Now I found out about FL Studio and want to know if you guys think, given my needs above, it would be better? This is a hobby, I won't have limitless hours or a huge budget, and don't expect to become a professional composer, but I do have high expectations for creative freedom. I really didn't understand it at first, but was able to pluck out a simple piano/string piece and really liked it. So, based on a suggestion from a friend, I downloaded Reason. I don't want loops, either, I want total control over each blip and sound. Building a home studio and dont know which software to run Lucky for you, we have assembled the pros and cons of each DAW for you. I may involve my recorded sounds, but for the most part I want to create everything in the software - I do not have a keyboard or guitar or any other instrument. think a lot of strings, piano, dark synths, electronic orchestral type sound, maybe even like a modern epic movie score at times. I want to make dark ambient, symphonic music. I'd like to get into composing music on the computer, just as a hobby.
